Delayed outflows in AT2018hyz.

Delayed outflows in AT2018hyz.

As it is known, tidal forces are gravitational effects caused by a gravitational gradient applied to a body. Meaning, a force of different amplitude is being applied to different parts of a body, resulting in a tendency to change its shape. Now, if a cosmic object passes close enough to a supermassive black hole (SMBH), that the tidal force can overcome the self-gravity of the object, it leads to a tidal disruption event (TDE). Such an event was observed during October, 2018, when a SMBH devoured a star, forming a transition accretion disk. It was named AT2018hyz. AS TDEs are quite common and at that time it didn’t seem to be anything particularly special for AT2018hyz, researchers moved on, trying to use the precious telescope type, better. However, about three...

You felt like a German Christmas…

You felt like a German Christmas…

I bought a cake and a coke for you tonight. A large coke with a little reindeer in the corner. Returning home, I remembered that I’m out of cigars. I wanted some big Cubans, but the cigar shop was already closed. I couldn’t bring myself to buy normal cigarettes. Returning home, I passed by an Italian pasta restaurant. On the window, I noticed some interesting packs of cigarettes. I went in and asked. Found a brand that said “Keith: Mild. Little Cigars. Caffe Late.” I turned the air con into sucking mode, to trick the three smoke detectors in my little Japanese apartment. I drank coke through a straw and smoked my little cigars. Past midnight. 12:50. I called your name three times, Holly, Holly, Holly, as if it was a rule of the Tradition of the Moon. Then I...

Personazhe

Me cigaren zgjatur tek cepi i buzëve.

Po ndërronte mijëvjeçari, Dhe mua me pushtoi një nostalgji, Ndaj solla rrotëzën e numrave, I mban mend ata telefonat e tipit te vjetër?

Standing Again by Dhimitër Xhuvani: How to stand up when life puts you down?

Standing Again by Dhimitër Xhuvani: How to stand up when life puts you down?

This is going to be the review of a book that unfortunately can only be found in the original language, Albanian. In my opinion, many of the excellent works of Albanian authors of the previous century have been left, forgotten, untranslated and isolated. One of the reasons, at least from my perspective, is the heavy socio-realism background, forced into these books by the communist regime of the dictator Enver Hoxha. I read Standing Again (“Përsëri në këmbë”) during my junior high school days, probably in seventh grade. It was one of those summers, when I used to live with my grandparents, who needed someone to help them in daily chores. They didn’t have a TV, so I spent my free time buried into the magical worlds of books (not necessarily age appropriate)....
